Mr Ralecha Mmatli

Acting Director, Human Resource Development Planning (Supply)

Mr Ralecha Kopano Mmatli is the Acting Director under the Department of Human Resource Development Planning-Supply. His current role is to effectively foster the production of industry-relevant human resource by all TVET and Tertiary Education institutions

Mr Mmatli’s substantive position is Manager-Institutional Planning in the Department of Human Resource Development Planning-Supply. Prior to joining HRDC I worked in the various Education Subsectors of the Ministry of Education and Skills Development. I have taught at Secondary school and Technical College levels. Among notable contributions was when I worked as Principal Technical Education Officer in the Ministry of Education and Skills Development under the Department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training in the Programme Development and Delivery Division. I was responsible for the development of the Key Skills component of the Technical Education programme. My last major contribution before I left the Civil service was when I worked as TVET Secretariat for the TVET Revitalization Project based at the Ministry Head Quarters, which ultimately catapulted into the TVET component of the Education and Training Master plan ever developed that came to be known as the Education and Training Sector Strategic Plan (ETSSP) of the Ministry of Education and Skills Development. I have broad experience spanning 21 years in the various Education Subsectors coupled with my teaching experience, prior joining the HRDC.

He possesses a Master of Science (MSc) in Strategic Management from the University of Derby (UK), Bachelor of Arts in Humanities as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Botswana. He is a member of the National Technical Committee for Developing the Botswana TVET Policy representing the HRDC with the HRDC UNEVOC Centre Coordinator.
